Overview - "The natural and obvious choice for an ocean voyage "
The 42 is a classic looking yacht with moderate height to the topsides, a sweet sheerline, pleasing overhangs and a long, wide and low cabin top. The 42 is intended to add a performance element to other essential blue water attributes like directional stability, stiffness and good load carrying ability. Below the waterline she looks conservative, with a deep canoe body, long fin keel and a big skeg hung rudder.
Below Decks:
Below decks you will find a very spacious open plan saloon with a large, beautifully finished saloon table, which seats eight comfortably with both leaves extended. There are storage lockers above and behind the port and starboard seating areas, with bookcases, bottle storage and lee cloths to port and starboard fitted as standard.
The forward facing chart table will easily take a folded admiralty chart, plus the usual aids to navigation and a customised ships control panel. Charts can be stowed in the chart drawer under the pilot berth.
The aft cabin is incredibly spacious with standing headroom, a full-width double berth, hanging locker and vanity unit with seat, drawers and locker. There is also plenty of room for storage with a large draw and storage bins under the berth. A full-length double row of lockers to port gives shelf space above and storage space below. The aft heads incorporates a shower unit and plenty of storage, including a ‘wet oilies’ locker with room for wet weather gear and boots.
The galley, to port, has a very user-friendly layout with top spec facilities including two stainless sinks, a built in top loading fridge compartment and a large four burner cooker. The galley has the essential large volume of storage space for food and utensils, with spacey lockers above and a large draw and multiple lockers below.
At the forepeak is the grand master cabin with a 6'6" double v berth with plenty of storage underneath. A vanity unit and seat have been crafted at the perfect height from the hanging locker and draws giving a huge feeling of space and comfort. The cabin has an ensuite heads compartment including a stylish built in shower with added storage.
The Rustler 42 combines style that is traditional yet modern, with a proven cruising layout, resulting in a live aboard yacht that has stability and elegance with the same unique sea kindly characteristics as the 36.
