Proven Design, Excellent Craftsmanship. Attention to Detail. Three key factors that underpin the quality, strength and performance of every yacht we make.

Design. Superb designs by Holman & Pye, Chuck Paine and Stephen Jones make up the Bowman, Starlight and Rustler ranges.  But design improvements never stop, so we're always looking to enhance our boats - inside and out.

Craftsmanship. We employ the top people to create a winning team - highly experienced and highly skilled. We expect the highest standards - so should you.

Attention to detail. Take a closer look and you can see the quality for yourself. The way we shape and scarf in a teak toe rail and the form and design of the saloon furniture. It's the small details that create the bigger picture.

Seven Points That Make Our Yachts Second To None...

1.Build Quality and Interior Craftsmanship

Each yacht is hand built by our team of exceptional craftsmen.

Teak is carefully selected by us through our suppliers. Timber is bought in bulk form and then machined to the required size and shape. This ensures that the quality of our joinery is first rate.

Solid teak and veneers are match faced to ensure seamless joints and pefect colour matching.

All bulkheads are bonded in with reinforced matt and resin. Together with longitudinal stringers and ribs this adds additional stiffness and strength to the already robust structure of the yacht.

Chainplates are bolted to purpose built web bulkheads bonded to the hull and deck giving a massive safety factor.

Keels are either lead encapsulated or thro' bolted to hefty keel stubs which form an integral part of the hull structure.

Engineering and electrical work is carried out by a single technician who is responsible for each boat. Installation of all equipment is carried out with precision and care and designed for ease of maintenance for owners.

Behind the scenes every yacht is finished to the highest standards. From hard wood floor bearers to flow coated fibreglass, everything is how you would expect to find it.

2. Bespoke Design and Build

We work closely with each customer to make the whole experience of having a hand built yacht a joy. You will end up with a yacht that is individual, beautiful, practical and a pleasure to be aboard.

If you have a specific idea that you want included we are happy to oblige. Infact some items that customers have requested have become standard or optional extras. We take on board your ideas.

3. Seakindlyness

The very nature of all the designs in our range ensure that our yachts are extremely seakindly. You simply won't find a better yacht for comfort whilst sailing in any conditions.

Long keel or long fin combined with heavy displacement ensure each yacht keeps on tracking when the sea state gets choppy or rough.

4. Safety and Comfort

Design, quality, attention to detail form the basis of a safe boat.

The safety and comfort of the crew is a key element in the ability of a sailing yacht to go long distances.

Much time is spent in the cockpit on any yacht and so ours are designed to be comfortable in all conditions whether sitting, standing or lying down. Cockpit coamings are high to give good back support and protect the crew from boarding seas. The cockpit sole at the helming position is angled to help when the yacht is healed.

We do not have any designs with walkthrough transoms and all our yachts have bridge decks to ensure your safety when under way in any conditions.  An open transom may be fine in sheltered waters but it is not a good idea for offshore sailing especially with the danger from following seas.

Reefing lines, main halyard and topping lift are all lead aft to the cockpit for ease of handling.   If you need to go forward there are attachment points in the cockpit for safety lines and jack stays to take you safely to the bow of the yacht.

5. Performance

Heavy displacement and a fine bow entry help the yacht remain stable and keep on tracking giving better windward performance. In lighter airs our yachts will generally achieve half wind speed up to 12 knots of wind. Above 12 knots our yachts come into a class of there own.

6. Reliability and Ease of Maintenance

Components are carefully selected from suppliers and fitted by our highly skilled craftsmen with precision and care ensuring the reliability of equipment on board our yachts is second to none. We always ensure easy access for routine maintenance to all equipment.

7. Resale Value

Just compare second hand prices! A number of our yachts have been sold for more than their original price after only a few years. Second hand yachts invariably change hands for more than they are bought.
