The Bowman 42 builds on the fine heritage of the popular Bowman 40 and incorporates a host of refinements including a deeper draft with new skeg and rudder profile, which has provided enhanced sailing performance. Her paces were shown in the ARC Transatlantic Rally where the Bowman 42 "Eternity of Hamble" won her class and finished 5th overall, one of the four yachts from the Rival Bowman yard taking part in the event.

The Bowman 42 combines the skills of top cruising yacht designer; Chuck Paine, with the exceptional building expertise of the Rival Bowman craftsmen.

Custom Interiors

The interior layout of the Bowman 42 can be tailored to an owner's specification, providing the yacht with an individual custom-built character. Whatever the chosen layout, the accommodation will share the style and craftsmanship which has earned Bowman an enviable reputation for quality.

The Warmth of Wood

The standard wood used for the interior is teak, but other woods are available as options.

Room for Six

The interior offers comfortable accommodation for up to six people in double cabins fore and aft, and two excellent settee berths in the main saloon. The main saloon has a dining arrangement which comfortably sets six around the handsome table.

The Spacious Galley

Excellent working space is provided in a U-shaped galley, designed for practicality and safety. There is plenty of stowage space for provisioning on long cruises.

The Large Navigation Area

A comprehensive navigation area has been created to allow practical chart work while at sea.

Engine

The 50hp engine is concealed under the galley worktop and mounted over the keel for optimum weight distribution. Excellent insulation ensures noise levels are remarkably low.

On Deck

Self tailing winches and a simple cutter rig help to make the Bowman 42 a straightforward but exciting boat to sail. A fully battened mainsail is standard, providing particularly easy sail control and adding to the life of the sail. Wide side decks and teak capped bulwarks contribute to an overall feeling of safety and comfort when at sea.
