BOWMAN 48 Aft Cockpit
AND
BOWMAN 48 Deck Saloon
One of the most outstanding ocean going yachts in
her class, the Bowman 48 has shown herself to be, "A sailing
yacht designed to go anywhere, at any time, without problems",
that is how the international yachting magazine, "Yacht Premier",
described the experience of test sailing the Bowman 48. This is
a yacht which has been designed by one of the world's top cruising
designers, Chuck Paine, and built by craftsmen who understand
the needs of serious cruising yachtsmen.
The Bowman 48 is now available in two versions,
the well known Aft Cockpit (AC) and the new Deck Saloon (DS).
The DS version offers the same superb quality of accommodation
as the AC but with a central cockpit configuration which provides
a bright and airy day cabin.

As befits a yacht of this quality the interior
is hand build to the highest standards by Bowman craftsmen. The
joinery is a combination of veneer and solid timber complimented
by soft furnishings which are tailored to the owner's specific
requirements.
An array of opening ports and hatches provide plenty
of fresh air and daylight. Forward facing windows in the main
saloon add a welcome brightness to the living area.

The standard layout offers a large, owner's double
cabin forward with en-suite shower and heads. The aft cabins may
be varied to give the owner a choice of accommodation. A second
shower and heads compartment is situated aft. A luxury saloon
with a spacious and well appointed galley completes the living
accommodation.
ENGINE
An 82hp Perkins 4-236 engine is situated above the keel improving
the stability of the yacht by reducing the pitching moment. The
design of the engine housing ensures exceptional access for regular
maintenance.
To avoid the necessity of starting the main engines
for battery charging, a generator is installed to service the
yacht's systems when in port of sailing for long periods.
UNDER SAIL
The Bowman 48 really shows her pedigree under sail.
The sparkling performance is achieved by the easily managed sail
plan and fine full design. A cutter rig with roller furling for
the headsail helps to make this a yacht which can be comfortably
sailed by two people. Sail controls are led back to winches and
clutches close to the helming position.
The Bowman 48, whether it be Aft Cockpit or Deck
Saloon, is a serious ocean cruiser where quality comes first.
Every aspect of this outstanding yacht achieves a standard that
few other yacht builders can match.
